After the devastating earthquake struck Haiti back in January the children at St. Patrick's Catholic School in Norfolk, Virginia decided they wanted to do something to help. There goal ....raise $10,000 to help an orphanage in Port-au-Prince, and they would do it one penny at a time!

Well if you ever wondered what ten-thousand dollars worth of pennies (that's one-million pennies) looked like, well Just take a look.

i Million Pennies raised for haiti by children at St Patricks catholic School in Norfolk, VA.

These are just some of the 1 Million (plus) pennies that were collected by the children at St. Patrick's Catholic School in Norfolk, Virginia.  The school not only made its goal of $10,000 dollars, but actually exceeded it by an extra $3000 which will be donated to church and Catholic Relief Services of Haiti.

Yesterday the media watched as Dylan Nyugen dropped the 1,000,000th penny in. They were then loaded into an armored truck to haul them off to Monarch Bank where they will be counted and rolled.

So the next time you say a penny isn't worth any thing these days, think about what a difference it would make if everyone in America sent in just one penny to help Haiti. By the way, as I write this there are 309,259,915 people in the U.S. .

You do the math!
